The versatile art galleries of the Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive brings to the public eye displays of art, both old and new, from around the world. Such displays generally run for a few months before being replaced by a different art show, and many incorporate some of the museum's 13,000 collected works of art. The Pacific Film Archive offers up a variety of rare, historic and influential movies for public screenings, often with the added benefit of the films' directors, critics, writers or scholars to help inform and enlighten viewers. Both areas sit on the southern edge of the University of Californa-Berkeley campus, beside the Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology.
