Winner of numerous awards since its opening season in 1991, the Aurora Theatre Company is generally accepted as one of the best theater groups in the Bay Area. Its five-play performance seasons include regional premiers of many plays and address topics and themes important in the modern world. The theater is situated only two blocks from the western edge of the University of California-Berkeley campus, near the Berkeley Historical Society Museum and the Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive.
